So tell me a little bit about yourself?

My name is Jimmy Cao, pronounced “Cow”, usually mistaken for “chow” or “Kayo”, I’m 20 years old, and im not Chinese, I’m Vietnamese.

Who are your sponsors?

City, Venture, Bones, DVS, Matix (flow), and Willy’s Workshop

So I know you’ve been doing a lot of traveling lately,
where have you been?

Last year I went to Arizona, Seattle, and Detroit with the City guys. City does a short video of every trip we take so you can go check that out on their Podcast. I also went on a DVS trip to the East Coast. Bones also did a trip to Texas. Also, I went on a mini City trip to China. And I just got back from Florida.

What was China all about?

City asked me to go over there to skate in some contest. It was pretty much like China’s X-games.

How did you do?

I got 4th…out of 8. But I still won some money so it was cool.

Is it true that they sent you over there as somewhat of an Asian representative for America?

Yeah, thats true.

So did you get to do a lot of street skating or just contest stuff?

Actually we were suppose to just stay for a week but me and Dave Bachinsky decided that we wanted to stay for an extra week and a half to skate street spots and film.

Are you guys working on a new City video?

Yes, its titled “What the fuck is a Bachinsky?” Dave's turning pro. Its not a full video but not a promo, its gonna have all the City Podcasts, so you’ll be able to see all the footage in good quality rather than on a youtube screen. Dave and I will have full length parts and the rest of the team will have footage too, but not full parts. It should be out by Spring 08, but you know how skateboarding goes.

City just put out a limited run of “Cao-a-bunga” T-shirts,
what's the story behind that?

Prior to the release of the Simpsons movie, my friend Terry made an avatar of himself as a Simpsons character, I thought it was hilarious so I asked him to make me one. I set it as my myspace default and Tony Vitello saw it and thought it would look good
on a shirt.

So I heard DVS finally decided to turn you am?
I know you’ve been flow for those guys for a while.

Yeah, Gabe and everyone over at DVS has treated me so well over the years. I’m just so psyched to be on a team with people I grew up watching.

Have you been on a trip with Daewon yet?

Yeah I went on the East Infection Tour with him. He's amazing, watching him skate is like watching an Asian kid play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. You can check the footage from the tour over at dvsskate.com

So I hear you have a crew called sk858, what’s that all about?

It’s basically just all the people I skate with everyday, just the homies.

Do you guys ever have any run-ins with your rival gang, Sk8Mafia?

No, actually it was Dan Connelly who thought of the name for SK858. And my partner in crime, Jamie Palmore is turning am for them, keep an eye out for this guy.

So what’s 2008 lookin like for Jimmy Cao?

Well mostly I’ll be working on finishing the City Video. And I’ve been filming for a part for The Berrics that should be out in a few weeks. Other than that, hopefully i'll just be able to skate and travel more.

Anyone you wanna thank?
