How to Make A Video Part Stand Out W/Chris Milic

Everyone is so good at skating these days that simply being really good just isn't enough to make your part stand out from the thousands of other youtube bruisers that uploaded their bangers that month. Skaters and filmmakers are going to have to start getting creative and go beyond standard trick documentation. This guy Chris Milic has got the right idea. Sure, he's pretty good at skating, nothing special really. What really gives this part some replay value is the fact that EVERY SINGLE shot contains the same stuffed red pufferfish doll. Sometimes it's prominently featured, like when it's perched at the end the end of the rail he front feebles at 5:19. Other times, I had to watch the shot two or three times to find it, like with the line that starts at 1:24. Let this be a call to all those unknown youtube superstars: Those stylish kickflip back tails just ain't cuttin' it no more. Get weird, get silly.

On the reverse side: Check out Rob Dyrdek's Street Dreams. It certainly stand out, but for all the wrong reasons. You basically want to make your part the opposite of Street Dreams in every possible way.
