Some skaters absorb particular spots into their very identity. Think Caroll and Emb. Oyola and Love Park. This kid and this tree bump. When all is said and done, Walker Ryan will be the guy associated with UCSD. With the way he skates the spot, you'd think they were old lovers. Such comfort, yet such intimacy.
My school also bans this so called "Trick Skating", defined as any manuever where your four wheels leave the ground. Some may find this an arbitrary and tyrannical distinction. But it doesn't have to be. Get creative! Remember, slappies, powerslides, wallrides, and various non-pop shuv combinations are still fair game. Keep slappying in the free world dude.
